The Longview High School football team has a new rug to play on. The natural grass field at Lobo Stadium has been replaced by artificial turf called New Turf. The 470-thousand dollar project began in May and will be completed by Thursday, ahead of schedule and on budget.
The turf has the look and feel of natural grass, but requires very little maintenance. And many colleges and high schools are opting for the surface. The field will also be used for soccer, and will be ready for it's first use on August 21st for a football scrimmage game.
