Dearborn County teen wins gold at X Games

LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) -

A local teen brings home gold from this year's X-Games.

On Sunday, Nick Goepper won gold in the Ski Slopestyle event at the Aspen X Games.

Nick Goepper, who is 18, grew up in the Lawrenceburg area, skiing at Perfect North.

Mike Mettler, Director of Snow Sports at Perfect North says they are very proud of Goepper's medal, "he's been working very hard for three or four years and it's great to see him accomplish this."

Mettler says Goepper still comes back to Indiana from time to time to ski.

But Thompson isn't the only freshman with high expectations.
