JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Christian Williams scored 15 points for Jackson State as the Tigers held on for a 60-57 victory over Mississippi Valley State Saturday night.

Jackson State (3-14, 2-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 58-52 with 29 seconds left, but Cameron Dobbs drained a 3, then Davon Usher hit two free throws for the Delta Devils (2-16, 3-6) to cut the deficit to 58-57 with 21 seconds remaining.

Matt Smith fouled Williams 14 seconds later, and Williams hit both foul shots for a 60-57 edge. Mississippi Valley State did not take a shot on the ensuing possession.

Usher paced the Delta Devils with 26 points on 8 of 20 shooting, plus 8 of 11 at the foul line. Smith added 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Mississippi Valley State made 34.4% (21 of 61) from the field, including 1 of 9 from 3-point range in the first half while falling in a 27-22 halftime hole.
