LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
What started as an break-in Tuesday night at Village South Apartments in the 700 block of Green Street in Longview ended with three victims being taken to a Longview hospital.
According to witnesses, there was at least one child and his father in an apartment when the suspect walked in the door and started shouting. The boy went to a neighbor before the situation escalated.
Later, at around 8:30 p.m., police were called about a disturbance involving gunfire. Six minutes later, a fire was reported at the same apartment complex. Authorities still aren't saying if the two are related.
One of the victims suffered a gunshot wound and Longview Police are saying that may be their suspect.
"We took several patients to Good Shepherd. Some had stab wounds and some were shot, and so they were treated as a gunshot wound. We took three patients to Good Shepherd," said Johnny Zackary with the Longview Fire Department.
Longview Police and Fire are still trying to piece the whole thing together. The fire department says the fire was intentionally set and did extensive damage to the apartment's laundry room.
