Three weeks into the New Year, most resolutions hit a road block. If you're trying to get back some motivation to workout, and going to the gym doesn't interest you...why not get your dog involved?
A new program called the "Thank Dog Work-Out" originated in California, but it's spreading now to other major cities. Several four legged athletes, along with their owners, get in shape together by running or working out together as a group.
Lauren Stauffer who is part of the program said, "There's something motivating when you're running and your dog looks up to you, and I think all right…I can do a little bit longer. "
Originally, the "Thank Dog Work-Out" is a one hour plan that includes running, pushups, and lunges. It's kind of a doggie boot camp, which is good exercise for the dog too with some obedience training in the mix. Even if there's not an official class like that here, it might be a good idea to try this at home.
