The Texas Department of Public Safety has added 58-year-old John Michael Enard to the 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender List. Enard is considered a sexually violent predator and at high risk to reoffend.
According to DPS officials, Enard removed his ankle monitor early Saturday morning and fled from the Southeast Texas Transitional Treatment Center, a halfway house in Houston.
Enard was paroled to the treatment center as a sexually violent predator in December 2012. He was convicted of burglary with intent to rape in 1982 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He also received a conviction for three counts of sexual assault.
Enard was serving a 75 year sentence since 1986 for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault when he was paroled last month.
He has made the comment that he will re-offend before he goes back to prison.
Enard has family in Houston and Lafayette, LA.
On January 19, the Harris County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Failure
to Comply with Civil Commitment Requirements and the Texas Pardon and
Parole Board issued a warrant for Parole Violation.
A $3,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to his capture.
