CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
Thousands of gun advocates gathered
peacefully at state capitals across the U.S. Saturday to rally against stricter
limits on firearms.
Those rallies are in
response to President Barack Obama's federal gun-control proposals this past
week which was in response to last month's deadly school shootings in
Connecticut.
The size of crowds at each location
varied.
Activists promoted the "Guns Across America" rallies primarily
through social media.
Since then protecting schools has been
at the heart of the debate over gun control.
But, some say there's another option to
keeping places of learning safe.
Some teachers in our area are learning Martial Arts for defense.
The "Safer Campus Now Workshop" will be held on February 2nd at the West Gastonia Boys and Girls Club.
