A Mansfield, La., woman was killed in an automobile crash Friday night in Shreveport.
Just after 11 p.m., Shreveport police responded to a multiple-vehicle crash in the 5800 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Four vehicles were involved, including a 2007 Ford Focus, a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder, a 2001 Toyota Celica and a 2001 Honda Accord.
Officers at the scene learned that an adult female who was driving the Ford Focus died from injuries she sustained after she was ejected from her vehicle following a collision with the Nissan Pathfinder.
The woman, identified as 49-year-old Rebecca C. Blunck of Mansfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shreveport crash investigators were able to determine from on-scene evidence that Blunck was apparently pulling onto Bert Kouns from a private drive when a T-bone collision occurred with the Pathfinder, which was traveling westbound in the same block of the roadway. investigators believe that following her ejection from her vehicle, Blunck was struck by at least two additional vehicles that were also traveling westbound on the roadway.
The driver of the Pathfinder, 16-year-old Jacob Roberts of Shreveport, was not injured in the crash. Thirty-one-year-old Tamika King of Shreveport, who was driving the Toyota Celica, and 21-year-old Jami Pangle of Greenwood, La., who was driving the Honda Accord, are believed to have unknowingly struck Blunck following the initial crash.
No exact cause of the accident has been established, but crash investigators do not believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
