Georgia native set to play against Falcons in NFC Championship

San Francisco 49ers player Bruce Miller can rest assured that his immediate family will be rooting for his team to win the NFC Championship against the Atlanta Falcons. But his cousins, will be rooting for the home team.

Miller was born and raised in Georgia and graduated from Woodstock High School. In 2011, Miller was drafted by the 49ers in the seventh round of the NFL Draft.

On Sunday, he will play in front of his hometown.

"He got his close friends and coaches tickets," his father Bruce Miller said. "He is very excited about getting to come home and play, and play in front of his friends and family, and give everyone a chance to see him play and be a part of it."

The player's family sat down with CBS Atlanta News on Friday to talk about the big game, a game his mom, dad, brothers and sisters predict will be won by the 49ers.

"I am predicting a 49er victory of course, but the Falcons have a powerful offense we are just going to have to take advantage of their defense," Bruce Miller said.

Lisa Miller said her son has always loved football and played since he was just a little kid at the South Cherokee Recreation Association.

"We've lived here all of our lives, so we've always been Falcons fans," Lisa Miller said. "We root for the Falcons when they aren't playing the 49ers. For us, it just makes us really happy because we are watching him do what he loves."

The family is predicting a 49ers win, but hope that one thing does not happen Sunday afternoon.

"I just hope no overtime," Lisa Miller said. "I can't do overtime situations. We don't like it and we don't handle it, it's too intense."

Bruce Miller is number 49 for the 49ers, he will be starting at fullback against the Falcons.
