Deanna Laney will continue her stay at a maximum security state hospital. The decision was made in court in Tyler Monday morning.
Matt Bingham, Smith County District Attorney: "Judge [Cynthia] Kent extended the order continuing treatment in the maximum security unit for Deanna Laney... continue the mental health services there for one year."
That hospital is at Vernon, Texas, near Wichita Falls. The Chapel Hill mother admitted to stoning two of her sons to death in May 2003, but was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Deanna Laney did not appear at Monday morning's hearing before Judge Cynthia Kent, and it was closed to the media and the public.
The next hearing was scheduled for July 19, 2005.
