Nick Pencis shared a recipe for an amazingly tender and moist pulled pork you can make at home, right in your crock pot! If you don't have time to smoke your roast on a pit, like Nick does at Stanley's, you can make this version in your own kitchen!
1 Boston Butt pork shoulder - boneless is ok, but bone-in is preferred for flavor
1 cup water
1 cup chopped onions
2 cups Stanley's Famous BBQ sauce
salt and pepper, to taste
fresh buns, coleslaw, pickles, onions, jalapenos, etc.
In a large crock pot, combine onions, water, BBQ sauce, salt and pepper, and pork shoulder. Place fat side up in the crock pot. Set crock pot on high for one hour.
After the first hour, reduce to low and cook for at least 6-7 hours.
Shred by hand or carefully chop with sharp knife.
Make sandwiches with your favorite condiments and sides. Moist and delicious!
