Fists of fury were flying Thursday night in Tyler. The bell has rung on the 73rd annual East Texas Golden Gloves. Around 150 East Texas fighters will be in action over the next three days at U.T. Tyler. There's no holding back, for the area's biggest boxing tournament of the year. Fighters of all ages will be stepping in the ring. Some for their very first bout.
"It's a unique thing every boxer has they just love sport and love getting in the ring to hit and get hit," said 16 year old boxer Mason Munoz. "There's 25 fights a night. That's a lot of entertainment for just ten dollars."
The tournament continues Friday and Saturday night at U.T. Tyler's Patriot Center. Fights begin at 7 p.m.
