RUSK, TX (KLTV) -
The City of Rusk will be getting a new police chief in the near future.
As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Joe Evans resigned his post as Police Chief of the City of Rusk, in order to take a position as the Jail Administrator for Nacogdoches. Evans has been the Chief of Police since May of 2009.
At 5 p.m. Thursday, Interim Police Chief, Jamie Campbell will be sworn in.
Campbell is the son of Cherokee County Sheriff, James Campbell.
