Wife Of Man Jailed On Porn Charges, Speaks Out

The wife of an East Texas man accused of possessing child pornography is speaking out.  38-year-old Jeffery Steven Hardy was arrested Friday, following a two week investigation by Longview Police and the FBI.

Hardy and his wife Crystal own "Krayola Corner Daycare" in Kilgore.  Police made the arrest after finding pornographic material saved on the couples computer.

Crystal Hardy said she was surprised when authorities raided her Kilgore home last Tuesday.

"Being a parent myself if I read something like that it would make me feel bad from the bottom of my stomach because that's the same way I felt when I heard about all of this."

Authorities removed a computer and later charged her husband, with possession of child pornography.  A charge she said is false.

"I believe it's grossly blown out of proportion.  Anybody can turn on a computer and have things pop up that they don't intend to be there."

According to legal documents, the charges against her husband stem from an internet chat-room discussion where Jeffery allegedly made remarks of a sexual nature involving a child.  The matter made even worse because the computer was inside the home where the family runs their daycare.  Crystal said it is just that reason, she believes the allegations to be false.

"I have parents come in and out of my house, I don't know when they come, I get inspected in and out of my house... If something like this was going on don't you think they would have seen something like this a long time ago."

While she understands the seriousness of the charges, she stands by her husband and their business.

"I'm a mother myself and if some of that had been said, yeah I'd be pretty worried too, but you don't live with a person, be with a person for four years, and live everyday of your life with them, you don't live with somebody that long and have something like this going on, it's not possible."

Crystal Hardy said they have voluntarily chosen to close their daycare during the investigation.  Jeffery Hardy remains in the Gregg County jail on a $50,000 bond.

Ghost stories and haunted houses have long been a popular past time, but just how much truth is there to the legends? "As Shakespeare said there are more things in heaven and earth then are in your books,” says Big Foot Expert Jeff Hurley. “There are things we don't understand." At the April 21, Paranormal Conference, experts in the subject came together to further explore their theories.
