Rob Ryan is out after two seasons as Cowboys defensive coordinator. Ryan's defense was ranked 19th in the NFL in total yards and 24th in points allowed. The Cowboys had several key injuries on the defensive side of the ball, losing five starters over the course of the season. The Cowboys stuggled to force turnovers with a league low seven interceptions.
Ryan had one year left on his three year contract. He's the second Cowboys assistant coach to be fired in the last two days. Running backs coach Skip Peete was also let go.
