Man Accused Of Shooting Soldier, Indicted

An East Texas man accused of shooting another man back in February has been indicted.

34-year-old William McCormick Jr. has been indicted by a Cherokee County grand jury for aggravated assault.

Authorities say he fired a gun into the car of two men driving next to him on Hwy 69.  One of the men was hit.  The two were soldiers, on leave from Fort Polk, Louisiana.

The man who was shot was treated and released for his injuries.
