LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man charged with murder was arraigned on the same
day the victim was laid to rest.
Yasmani Rivera-Amoros pleaded not guilty on Saturday to murder, attempted
murder and two counts of robbery in the shooting death of Eston Graver, 21, and
the wounding of Graver's 17-year-old friend. Rivera-Amoros, 20, remained in
jail Saturday on a $500,000 bond.
Meanwhile, Graver's family and friends gathered at The Kingdom Center Church
Saturday for his visitation and funeral.
Police were still searching for another person believed to be the shooter.
"I think the other person they need to find is the one who did it," said
Graver's fiance Jessica Harley.
Officers said early on December 29, Rivera-Amoros led Graver and his friend
to the upstairs of a Kingston Avenue apartment, then another person entered the
building and assaulted both young men. Police said Rivera-Amoros and the other
man demanded money and the keys to Graver's car. When Graver wouldn't give up either
one, both men were shot. Rivera-Amoros and his accomplice left in Graver's car
with cell phone and the money belonging to Graver's friend, according to
Graver was shot in the torso and died at the scene. The teenager remained in
a hospital on Saturday and was expected to make a full recovery.
An arrest report states that Rivera-Amoros was stopped by detectives in the
600 block of Douglas Park around 1:15 a.m. Friday and dropped several pills
which detectives recovered.
Rivera-Amoros is scheduled to be back in court at 9 a.m. January 15.
