Police say a Dallas firefighter and a pickup driver were injured when the driver hit a ladder truck as officials worked the scene of an earlier accident on Central Expressway.
Police say the ladder truck was blocking an accident scene early New Year's Day when a pickup rear ended it. The firefighter and pickup driver were taken to the hospital.
The accident the firefighters were blocking involved an accused drunk driver striking a police car from behind on the shoulder of the road. An officer and female passenger in the police car weren't injured. The female passenger was in the police car after being abandoned on the road following a disturbance. The accused drunk driver was arrested.
Dallas Fire-Rescue did not release details of the firefighter's injuries.
