Man struck by train in Texarkana identified

TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -

Texarkana, Texas Police have identified the man that was struck by a train on New Year's Eve.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that 51-year-old Edward Earl Bruce allegedly walked into a Union Pacific train as it was traveling across an intersection on South Robison Road.

The man has trauma to his upper body and was taken to a hospital in Texarkana for initial treatment, and then transferred to St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is now listed in guarded condition.

No one on the train was injured.
