The funeral arrangements for longtime Texas Ranger Glenn Elliott have been announced.
The public viewing will take place at Rader Funeral Home on Judson Road in Longview on Thursday, January 3 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will take place at Alpine Church of Christ, at 610 East Loop 281 in Longview. The service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4.
According to Judge Bill Stoudt, former Texas Ranger Glenn Elliott died around 9 a.m. on Monday.
During his 38 years as a Highway Patrolman and Texas Ranger, Elliott investigated and solved some of the highest profile cases in the country. He wrote two books, "Glenn Elliott: A Ranger's Ranger," and "Glenn Elliott: Still a Ranger's Ranger," which detail many of those cases.
Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt said, "I never met a Ranger or law enforcement person who did not respect Glenn Elliot. He was well respected and will be remembered."
A longtime Longview resident, Elliott was 86.
