One East Texas doctor has been disciplined by the Texas State Medical Board.
Dr. Roderick Lee Mitchell of Daingerfield had his license revoked for failure to meet the standard of care and not maintaining adequate medical records. On November 30, the Medical Board entered a Final Order regarding Dr. Mitchell, revoking his medical license.
Also, Dr. Kathleen Kelley Majors of Shreveport Louisiana entered into an Agreed Order with the Texas State Medical Board, restricting Dr. Majors from practicing medicine in Texas until she completes all the terms of her July 2011 order entered by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. The Board found Dr. Majors was disciplined by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners for prescribing excessive amounts of a controlled and dangerous substance for treatment of chronic pain in a manner not in compliance with Louisiana's chronic pain treatment rules.
The Texas Medical Board entered into a Agreed Order of Voluntary Surrender with Dr. Charles Louis Fougerousse a longtime Lufkin Gynecologist, as well, because of an ongoing illness. Dr. Fougerousse agreed to immediately cease practice in Texas.
