TISD Out $2 Million For Fitness Equipment

Tyler ISD now has to pay for more than $2 million worth of fitness equipment it was supposed to get for free. The National School Fitness Foundation gave the equipment to TISD schools earlier this year. The district paid for it with the promise it would be reimbursed. But the National School Fitness Foundation has now gone bankrupt. Since 2000, about 600 schools nationwide have received equipment and training from the foundation. TISD is one of the foundation's largest creditors. The National School Fitness Foundation has sued its president. They're accusing him of using almost $4 million from the foundation for personal reasons.
