Longview church remembers Sandy Hook

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

One East Texas church has put out a reminder that for some, Christmas is a time to remember loved ones lost.

The congregation of Restoration Fellowship Church in Longview placed 26 angels on the church lawn, honoring those lost in the Newtown, CT shooting. Each angel included a victim's name, and age.

It's a simple gesture of love from an East Texas church to families in Connecticut.

"Our hearts go out to those who have had such a tragic loss," said church pastor Tommy Jackson. "The situation that happened in Connecticut is a travesty and should not happen anywhere. We don't want to forget that every life lost is huge. Its a message of love and not just for some people but for all people."

The angels will be at Restoration Fellowship Church on highway 259 for the next two weeks. The public is invited to visit and leave flowers at the memorial.
