ETX power outages Friday morning

UPDATE 7:04 a.m. Friday: According to Charles Hill with Oncor, 4,000 customers are still without power in East Texas this morning. 1,000 in the Smith County area, and 3,000 in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area. Hill says they still have 200 locations that need to be repaired before all electricity can be restored.

According to SWEPCO, 10,554 customers are still without power this morning.

With temperatures expected to dip into the twenties tonight, the City of Tyler encourages residents to check on elderly or disabled neighbors in the area. 

Please consider staying with friends and family until power is restored. For emergency sheltering assistance, you may contact the American Red Cross at 903-581-7981.

According to SWEPCO, an additional 312 line and support resources are arriving to assist with power restoration. SWEPCO continues to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
