Police identify 1 of 2 bodies found in N. Tyler home

Posted: Updated:

Tyler Police have responded to a report of two bodies in the 1200 block of North Albertson Avenue in Tyler.

The deceased are described as a black male and female. The female has been identified as 50-year-old Cynthia Pettigrew. It is believed that she lived at the house where the bodies were found.

Police say that the circumstances are suspicious.

Family came to the home after they hadn't heard from the occupants.

We were told by Pettigrew's family members that she had lived at the house for four or five months, and that while she wasn't in a relationship with anyone, she had several male friends.

Texas Rangers, Smith County constables, Justice of the Peace Quincy Beavers, Tyler police officers, the crime scene unit and detectives are on the scene.

We will have more information as this story develops.
