Senior citizens buy Christmas presents for needy Gregg Co. families
LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
A community of East Texas senior citizens is pitching in to help give kids a Merry Christmas.
Residents of Buckner-Westminster Assisted Living bought a thousand dollars worth of Christmas presents for needy children in Gregg County. The group delivered the gifts to Buckners-Children Cotton Street offices to be distributed.
For many its like re-living Christmas as they remember when they were children.
"I can't imagine a child waking up and having no presents at Christmas because I never did do that and I'm so thankful that we can give this to the kids," said Bonnie Arnold.
Buckner will help 500 Gregg County families with Christmas presents this Holiday season.
