Although nobody can make sense of what's happened in Conneticut, the shooting tragedy does have many parents asking themselves how they can protect their children from heinous crimes like this one, and for some that means changing their environment.

One Evansville woman says although she can't protect her daughters from everything, she is considering changing where they go to school.  She says this recent tragedy has brought those discussions to the forefront.

"There is so much that goes into thinking about this as a parent because anybody would trade places in a heartbeat, but you just don't know what tomorrow brings. How do you even begin to prevent something like this," Jennifer Savage said.

Jennifer says her daughter has gone through emergency drills at school for different scenarios, including a gunman.

Her family is considering home schooling or private instruction.
