Former ETX teacher accused of assaulting students turns in teaching certificate

UNION GROVE, TX (KLTV) -

A former Union Grove ISD teacher and coach turned in his teaching certificate in October.

Steven Mulkey was accused sexually assaulting students in the 1980s when he was first teaching in the district. Right now he has not been charged with any crimes.

Now that he has turned in his certificate, he will not be allowed to teach in the future.

Mulkey was placed on administrative leave in July, pending an investigation.
