MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) -

Corey Lee Johnson, 19, was arrested on Tuesday morning following a robbery in Marshall.

On Tuesday, Marshall police responded to a burglary in the 600 block of Pinewood Drive at around 6:55 a.m. Officers were told that a rifle had been stolen out of a vehicle. A 911 call was received shortly after reporting a black male in the same area carrying a rifle. After searching the area, officers were unable to locate the subject.

Three hours later, at approximately 9:55 a.m., Marshall police dispatched officers to the 700 block of Rosewood Circle where a caller had reported a black male armed with several rifles. When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect took off on foot. Officers chased the suspect, arrested him and identified him as Johnson, a Marshall resident.

Johnson was booked into the Harrison County Jail and charged with six counts of burglary of a vehicle, burglary of a building, two counts of theft of a firearm, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest.

According to Detective Sonya Johnson of the Marshall Police Department, all of the charges were committed between Monday night and Tuesday morning, except for the burglary of a building, which was reported on October 26.
