LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Over $1,000 worth of donations for the Longview Police Department Blue Santa Program were stolen from a warehouse on South Green Street in Longview.

"All of the donations that were in there were from last year's givings," says Longview police officer Misty Ryan. "And then nothing from this year because we hadn't started purchasing gifts or shopping this year."

According to Ryan, the donations, which included gifts and decorations, were stolen on November 22. The theft is still under investigation.

LPD is taking up donations to make up for the loss. Anyone interested in donating can leave items at the police department. It is the goal of the Blue Santa Committee to average three toys per child.
