HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Hopkins County has released the name of the man who fell off a train and died on the night of December 4.

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office said 35 year old Jason Daniel Ray, a transient from South Carolina, hopped onto a Kansas City-Southern train in the Wylie area with two other men. Deputies said Ray simply fell off the train.

The other two men, Lindsey Richards, 28, and Ryan Baker, 39, were arrested for criminal trespass.

Kansas City Southern responded to the incident with this statement: "On December 4 in Hopkins County, Texas, three trespassers were riding an intermodal car on an eastbound Kansas City Southern freight train, when one of them fell from the car and was fatally injured.  One of the trespassers called 911 to report the incident and the train was stopped in Pittsburg, Texas where two trespassers were arrested."
