Tyler Public Library hosts events for preschoolers

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

One East Texas library is getting into the Christmas spirit and they're sharing it with a group of preschoolers.

Tyler Public Library is having a "Three Ring Holiday" to celebrate the holiday season while helping children learn.

"We've got a selection of winter based stories, a little bit of the holiday things, some different songs, activities for the kids and then a bunch of games that are all geared towards the preschooler," says Linda Gray, with the Tyler Public Library.

Gray says activities like these are important when it comes to developing your preschooler's learning habits.

"It really is good hands on play for the kids. Play is excellent for their brain and for their development and their learning so all of these are really based on play," says Gray.

Through the month of December, the library will host different events for your preschooler. The "Three Ring Holiday" is just one of them, where your preschool will get to color, play games and listen to stories.

"It's important for you to read to your kids everyday, but it's a real highlight to have someone else be a reader to them. That way they can see different types of reading," says Gray.
