HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

One person died and two others are in custody Wednesday morning after hopping onto a train.

The three got onto a Kansas City-Southern train somewhere in the Wylie area Tuesday night, according to Hopkins County Sheriff's officials.

The body of a 30-to-35-year-old male was found by KCS railroads around 9:00 p.m. between Pickton and Winnsboro on Highway 11.

Authorities believe that person fell off the train, which was traveling at 42-miles-per-hour. The deceased has been identified, but his name is not being release pending notification of family.

Kansas City Southern responded to the incident with this statement: "On December 4 in Hopkins County, Texas, three trespassers were riding an intermodal car on an eastbound Kansas City Southern freight train, when one of them fell from the car and was fatally injured.  One of the trespassers called 911 to report the incident and the train was stopped in Pittsburg, Texas where two trespassers were arrested.  The incident remains under investigation."

Texas Rangers have joined the investigation and the area is being treated as a crime scene.

Lindsey Richards, 28, and Ryan Baker, 39, were arrested for criminal trespass.

The men are being held in the Camp County Jail. Bond has not been set.
