Tyler Long Riders revin up Tyler with 27th annual toy run

Sunday the 27th Annual Tyler Long Riders toy drive kicks off at the square in downtown Tyler.

The club collects all kinds of donations to help needy families in East Texas. In 2011, they helped over 100 families celebrate the holidays and this year they hope to surpass 400.

Ronnie Wilson of the Tyler Long Riders Bike club, said it is always touching when they get to deli ever the toys to the children.

"During the deliveries you go out there and find one kid that you've really touched and he jumps up there, just as happy as he can be with the right thing that you brought. It makes it all worth while," Wilson said.

The Tyler Long Riders collect all kinds of donations such as toys, food and cash. The event kicks off Sunday at noon on the square in Tyler. At 2pm, the group then rides to their clubhouse located off of FM 850, east of the loop in Tyler. They will be collecting donations all day Sunday and are encouraging anyone and everyone to come out and donate. Donations start on the square in Tyler and will continue at their clubhouse off of FM 850.
