LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -
Saturday morning in Lufkin, residents were able to enjoy the new basketball court at Brandon Park.
The project was a joint venture by Lufkin Coca-Cola and Brookshire Brothers, both donating $5,000.
The project was started last Spring and officials believe that it was a great investment in the community.
"It's just a great thing for the community. I would challenge anyone to find a much more awesome outdoor basketball court than this one at Brandon Park right now," said Jim Watkins, General Manager of Lufkin Coca-Cola.
Also on hand were the U.S. Marines and the Marine Corps Reserves with their annual Toys for Tots campaign.
Food and drinks were provided by Lufkin Coca-Cola and Brookshire Brothers. Prizes were given out including an autographed Lebron James poster.
