ETCA Baseball Player Steals Away To Alabama

East Texas Christian Academy's Cole Huggins signed Friday to play baseball at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama.

Huggins batted .462 last season, and led East Texas with thirty-two stolen bases. He was ETCA's Panther of the Year last season, and a three-time all district player who played all over the diamond.

Huggins said even though he'll be playing far away from home, he feels like he's already established at Faulkner.

"I've got some family down there," Cole says. "I went down and met the team, they seem like a real good group of guys."

Huggins was a four-year starter for the ETCA Panthers. played second and third base, and also centerfield. Last season, his On Base Percentage was .711. He was a three sport athlete, also playing soccer and basketball.
