LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
Today was foundation day for an East Texas college. That is, a concrete foundation. LeTourneau University in Longview is getting a new student center.
The Anna Lee and Sidney Allen Family Student Center is 60,000 square feet and kept 70 cement trucks busy hauling concrete Tuesday. The pour began at 1 a.m. and continued for almost twelve hours.
"It's going to make such a difference in our community life here for students. It's a student center that's very focused. It should take about 18 months I think to complete," said Janet Ragland with LeTourneau University.
The project will cost about $14 million.
