An East Texas native who earned her way to sing on some of the most prestigious stages in the country, is back where it all started.
Linda Davis has performed with stars like Kenny Rogers and Reba McEntire. Now, she will perform with her husband and friend at Tyler's very own Liberty Hall.
"I was a little girl with a big dream down the road in Panola County. I watched all of the country television shows when I was a little girl and the Grand Ole Opry was one of them. That's what I set my sights on from way, way back," said Linda Davis.
A sight that grew closer and closer once Linda packed her bags in Carthage and headed to Nashville, Tennessee.
Not only did she make it to the Grand Ole Opry, but her talent earned her a Grammy and a place on stage with several big name stars.
"Ever since I've been living my dream, literally, living my dream and more," Davis said.
That dream also led her to her country music singer husband, Lang Scott. The couple has two daughters, one of whom you may recognize as co-lead singer of the band Lady Antebellum.
"All of us just love music. We love all, all music. There is no telling who is playing on our playlist. With a 12-year-old in the house, it's going to be Justin Bieber sometimes, you know," she said with a laugh.
Davis is a music lover who said she is excited to bring this particular show home to East Texas.
"First of all, my husband Lang is with me on stage. He's an awesome performer, great writer, singer and storyteller," Davis explained.
She is also excited to introduce her dear friend Bill Whyte to her East Texas roots. Whyte will perform with Davis and her husband.
"Bill has a great talent for song writing as well as he's got a funny bone that will put you in stitches. So, Mother Francis may have some people in the emergency room tonight because of sore stomachs because he is going to make you laugh so hard," Davis said.
It is a show she is happy to share with family and friends who will have the opportunity to cheer her on from the front row.
