Insider tips for Black Friday bargains

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Bargain shoppers and businesses are prepping for one of the biggest sale days of the year.

Black Friday ads are already leaking, and some stores have already released ads more than a week ahead of time.

With deals now online and in stores, what should you know before you hit the stores?

For starters, bargain shoppers do not have to wait till Friday to get good savings.

Stores like Walmart, Sears, and Target will open their doors Thanksgiving evening.

Other stores like Best Buy open at midnight, but if you want the best deals, you will need to be in line long before then.

"We'll go to each person while they're in line and ask them if they are interested in that product and if they are, then we give them the ticket. And we have limited quantities on all the stuff and once, we're out we're out. If you're down in the middle of the line, then you're probably not going to get the best stuff, so it's good to get here early," said Best Buy General Manager Scott Steger.

The business said operating smoothly with large crowds takes practice.

"We've got one this Sunday where everybody will come in the store and we'll just actually practice it; we'll do a role play on it," Steger said.

Don's TV and Appliance will open at 8 a.m. on Black Friday, but they are already sectioning off their store for some of their hottest items.

"We've cleared this entire wall and it will have our early bird specials for Friday after Thanksgiving from 8 a.m. to noon that day. Frankly, I can't tell you the deals yet, but they will be in the paper Thanksgiving day," Steger said.

Also, do not forget to check out deals online. For example, Kohl's shoppers can purchase Black Friday deals starting on Wednesday, November 21.

Experienced Black Friday shoppers and business owners say if you want to save big,  it pays off to plan ahead.
