WHITEHOUSE, TX (KLTV) -
While people around the world focused on yesterday's presidential election, East Texas students were learning about our nation's past presidents.
The 3rd grade class of Higgins Elementary School in Whitehouse dressed up for a president and first lady wax museum on Tuesday.
All of the impersonating presidents and first lady's were dressed and ready to give a small speech about their role in American history.
Teachers say they have done the wax museum before but this is the first year it lined up with the presidential election.
"It's important for them to see that there are other leaders in our nation's history that have shaped our country," says Amy Culpepper, a teacher at Higgins Elementary School.
Students were very excited to play their respective roles and say they enjoyed learning all the facts about our past leaders.
