TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
World War II Veterans are making their way to Tyler for a final a reunion.
For the last 25 years, shipmates from the CVE 18 USS Altamaha and their families have been reuniting once a year.
While the veterans are in Tyler, they will tour places like the Municipal Rose Garden, the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum and the Oil Museum in Kilgore.
Bob Wood is one of the four remaining shipmates who says it's been a real blessing to have 25 years of reunions with friends and their families.
"I praise the Lord everyday. I've been praying we need rain, but please Lord, hold off so that we can get them in and get them out.
It looks like we're going to make it," says Wood.
One veteran is driving all the way from Maine for the reunion. The reunion will begin Wednesday and go on until Saturday.
