Mt. Pleasant man dies after motorcycle crash

MT. PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) -

A 30-year-old Mt. Pleasant man died Saturday, less than a day after he was riding a motorcycle in Titus County and collided with a SUV.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Joey Dean Parker, 56, of Mt. Pleasant, was southbound on US-271 just north of the Mt. Pleasant city limits. Officials say Parker was making turn onto a private drive and struck Twan Thompson, 30, also of Mt. Pleasant, who was northbound on a motorcycle.

Thompson was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler and pronounced dead at 2:13 p.m. Friday.

No charges have been filed.
