Fiery crash ends high speed pursuit in Hopkins Co.

A high speed chase ended when the suspect vehicle crashed and caught on fire in Hopkins County.

According to Hopkins County authorities, the pursuit started just after 9 p.m., Monday, in Hunt County when a Dodge Durango with Arkansas plates fled from officers on I-30. The chase entered Hopkins County at mile marker 105 and ended at mile marker 120, when the vehicle wrecked out.

Hopkins County Sheriff's Deputies were able to put the fire out with fire extinguishers and when fire crews arrived on the scene they extricated the suspect driver from the vehicle.

The suspect was transported to Plano Medical Center by medical helicopter.

The identity and condition of the suspect has not been released.
