Report: Hospitalized patient wakes to man kissing her

ROCK HILL, SC (WBTV) -

A Rock Hill woman says she woke up to a man kissing her after she fell asleep at a hospital in York County.

According to a Rock Hill police report, officers were contacted by a 22-year-old woman on Tuesday who said she had been assaulted.

The woman said she was sleeping in her room on Tuesday afternoon at Piedmont Medical Center and woke up to a man "wearing a hospital gown kissing her on the cheek."

She reportedly asked the man what he was doing and he ran out of the room.

The woman told officers that she had talked to the man earlier in the day when he was admitted to the hospital, but didn't know his name.

It happened on the 4th floor of the hospital, which officials told WBTV housed the Behavioral Medical Unit.

Hospital security officials told Rock Hill officers that a man was seen on video walking into the woman's room and exited the room around a minute later.

No other details were available due to HIPPA regulations.
