Two restaurants get serious violations

In Longview, one restaurant was hit with the most serious violations in the latest round of inspections. Inspectors found 8 violations in an October 23rd inspection of Paleteria Lisbeth at 1004 South Mobberly Avenue. Raw beef , sliced ham were held too warm. Diced beef and chicken were held too cold. Jalapeno, and green bell peppers were unfit for consumption. Food items were not date marked. Employees were observed handling food without gloves. Total demerits: 32

In Tyler, Sweet Sue's family restaurant at 3350 South Southwest Loop 323. Several foods from the buffet line, including baked chicken and beef liver were not stored in correct temperatures. Food had to be discarded. No certified food manager was on site. Employees had open beverages next to the cooking area.

Total demerits: 22
