TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

The only man serving time in the Mineola child sex ring case has been denied an appeal.

Dennis Pittman had an appeal before the Twelfth Court of Appeals in Tyler on nine items in connection to his 2010 trial on charges of organized criminal activity, including allegations of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

In his appeal, Pittman argued the grand jury selection was unconstitutional, the 241st District Court erred in excluding testimony, erred in allowing a witness to invoke Fifth Amendment rights and erred in allowing the State to present evidence of an unrelated offense.

Justice Sam Griffith of the Twelfth Court of Appeals issued the opinion for the three-member court, which overruled all nine of Pittman's items in his appeal. The appeals court also affirmed the life sentence by the 241st District Court.

In an interview with KLTV 7 in 2011, Pittman said he had never been to Mineola and the whole thing was made up by the child victims and their foster parents.

Pittman is serving his life sentence in an Amarillo prison.
