Grapeland Police arrested two men accused of throwing eggs at a 71-year-old woman's face during a Halloween prank Wednesday night.
According to the arrest report, an officer was dispatched to Main Street at 9:30 p.m. He reported that a 71-year-old woman had been struck in the face with eggs after opening her door to what she thought were trick-or-treaters. She was covered in eggs and she said it caused her pain "trying to get away from the eggs."
The woman was able to identify one of the suspects as a black man wearing a white skeleton mask. The officer said he had dealings earlier in the evening with someone with that mask and located him in the area.
The suspect said he did have the mask but did not mean to hurt anyone. The officer spoke to someone else, who said they lent the mask to someone else but had stood there waiting for him when he went to the woman's house and they fled the scene together.
The officer arrested Quaderius Whitt, 18, and Kevin Wayne Campbell, 17, both of Grapeland, on felony charges of injury to elderly.
