Former ETX police chief pleads in child sex assault case

SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX (KLTV) -

A former East Texas police chief has been sentenced on indecency with a child charges.

Former Sulphur Springs chief, Donald Lewis, pleaded guilty to charges that he had sexual relations with an underage girl between 2001 and 2004.

He was indicted in Collin County on the charges last year. Lewis retired from the Sulphur Springs Police Department in 2001.

As part of the plea, he was sentenced to three years in prison.
