Democratic candidate Paul Sadler who is running for U.S. Senate stopped in his hometown of Henderson to cast his early vote in the election at his local polling site.
Sadler is running against Republican candidate Ted Cruz for the Senate seat left by Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
Sadler said it is important for people to go out and exercise their voting rights.
"I think it's good. Anytime Americans go out and vote, it's something to be celebrated, because as I said, it is fundamental to us. I'm very pleased with what's happening. Let the voters speak. Let them have their say and at the end of the day we'll put our government together and go forward," Sadler said.
Sadler will be in Tyler Tuesday evening for a meet and greet from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Main Street Gallery downtown.
