TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
Children
were the first patients cared for when Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler opened one
day ahead of its scheduled grand opening in 1937 to treat victims of the New
London school explosion. Now, 75 years later, Mother Frances has become a
specialty carrier for pediatric care for patients throughout the region.
The hospital's commitment to children
expended today when officials with Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler, Children's
Medical Center Dallas (Children's) and UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW)
signed a relationship agreement that is expected to bring pediatric cardiology,
urology, telemedicine, other subspecialties and educational services to Tyler
and the surrounding areas.
"We have spent the last several months working
with Children's Medical Center and UT Southwestern to find ways to connect the
expertise of mant of their subspecialty physicians and providers to our
patients' continuum of care. This relationship agreement is a natural fit for
these three medical entities that share a mutual respect for each other and have worked collaboratively for many years. Coming together to formalize our long-term relationship makes good sense for our patients," said Lindsey Bradley, FACHE, president, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics.
